AB&I Foundry Wall Mural
2012 – Present AB&I Foundry Mural / Phase II (2,200 sq. ft.)
The AB&I Foundry is a metal foundry on San Leandro Street that manufactures cast iron soil pipe and fittings for plumbing systems. The company has been around since 1906 and employs approximately 300 team members. Today’s AB&I is a thoroughly modern, technology-driven foundry committed to environmentally responsible manufacturing and team member safety. AB&I is an environmentally conscience U.S. manufacturer that has invested millions of dollars in environmental programs involving clean air, land and water. AB&I’s water treatment system is just one example in that every drop of rain water that hits the roof is captured and run through a filtration process and then recycled. AB&I strives to be good stewards of the environment for future generations.
The Foundry of the Future Mural is on the wall outside the AB&I Foundry on San Leandro Street. It has a patriotic theme and shows the history of the company, which dates back to 1906. The mural was painted by Jean Bidwell.
